Why I Created Y Naught Books

A brief personal reflection on where the publishing venture came from, and what I hoped it might make room for.

After retiring I returned to two interests that have shaped much of my life: mathematics and the humanities. What began as a linear algebra textbook was interrupted, repeatedly, by an unexpected desire to write fiction.

The venture exists because I wanted a place where those interests did not have to be kept apart — where a reflection on sacred music and a note on an economics article could sit on the same shelf without either apologizing for the other.

The subjects may vary. The purpose remains consistent.

The aim is a curated forum for reasoned and civil reflection on literature, art, history, music, culture, and society — and, alongside it, the thrillers.
