A Sonnet for a Steadfast Man Turning 45

Alarm the morning! Wake his day!
Rise early, your labor’s just begun
For devotion, love, and duty stay
atop your thoughts as Sol completes his daily run.
With tireless hands you build a life secure,
Each choice weighed not for self. But for their sake,
No sacrifice for wife or child you’d not endure,
For vows once made you’d not forsake.
Your children thrive beneath your watchful care,
Your wife upheld, by love both deep and true;
In all you do, your loyalty is there --
It’s all for them. It’s who you are and what you do!
To call you son fills all my heart with pride,
I’ve seen in you - true manhood does abide.
